The Floor Manager will report to the Assistant Store Manager. The Floor Manager primary responsibilities are maintaining the retail floor space, (including normal housekeeping duties), hiring of student or booksellers for the Bookstore, ecommerce for retail sales, and any other duties in support of the Bookstore.

The Floor Manager is instrumental in helping the Bookstore meet sales objectives, maintaining good customer relationships, working with students, and working on multiple projects simultaneously. Must demonstrate a clam demeanor and manage issues appropriately setting a positive example.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Work with the Store Manager and other managers within the Bookstore on store sales, gross margin, payroll, expense, and inventory.
Deliver positive financial rsults through efficient execution of initiatives.
Develop an ecomerce solution and ensure functionality and customer satisfaction as best possible.
May be responsible for other Bookstore duties including shipping/receiving, working with vendors, and assisting as necessary.
Supervisory responsibilities
Manage and executes the daily operations of the retail store in partership with the Bookstore management team.
Directly supervise booksellers and campus student workers.
Qualifications
Floor Manager should demonstrate knowledge of the bookseller industry, delegating and performing duties as business demands.
Floor Manager is recommended to have management experience in a retail environment.
Floor Manager must comply at all times with Andrews standars, policies, and code of conduct.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Must be able to work well with different computer systems, applications, and programming environments.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be able to interact with students, faculty and staff meeting needs as best possible.
Physical demands
Floor Managers are expected to work a majority of the time on the retail sales floor, which requires physical activity such as standing for long periods of time.
There is heavy lifting required when performing shipping and/or receiving functions and when assisting retail customers with purchased products.
Work environment
Floor Managers may be required to perform duties anywhere within the Bookstore and may be required to assist customers with purchased product, such as assisting in placing purchased objects in a vehicle.
Duties may be very physically demanding.
