Carpet One Floor & Home is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, positive-minded person with an extensive flooring installation background with project coordination/management experience for our location in Ocala, FL.
The job of an operations manager is to hire and supervise installers and facilitate the operations of the sales process, warehouse procedures, and installations. This position manages the operational aspects of the business and plays a key role in productivity. The operations manager reports directly to the store manager and works with the warehouse and sales managers to effectively manage the overall operations of the business. This position is exempt from The Fair Labor Standards overtime requirements.
Summary of Responsibilities
The operations manager's primary responsibilities are to hire and supervise installers and facilitate the operations of the sales process, warehouse procedures, and installations.
Hire and Supervise Installation Staff
Recruit, hire, and train installers by utilizing the strengths and weaknesses of individuals.
Conduct quarterly safety meetings to review safety regulations and best practices.
Design and implement a quality assurance program to track the effectiveness of installation crews.
Engage in a collaborative goal setting process for the store and help installers maintain these goals.
Coach individual installers who do not meet performance standards to improve performance.
Hold installers accountable for their contributions to the store and their teams.
Use corrective action strategies to coach installers that fall below the performance standard.
Operations Management
Regularly demonstrate, and practically apply, an understanding of the key financial drivers of the Carpet One business in order to complete the job with a high level of accuracy and maximize the business' long-term performance.
Schedule installations by communicating with installers and customers and preparing the proper paperwork.
Track and cross-reference physical inventory and the inventory management system.
Ensure installation accuracy by communicating with customers to confirm the installation details, and ensuring installations are conducted on time and with quality.
Demonstrate and ensure customer service excellence by regularly connecting with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with the warehouse to track deliveries, order special products and installation supplies, and submit and track claims.
Business Management
Attend regular company sponsored training sessions to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
Communicate essential training tips, policies, and procedures to installers as appropriate.
Maintain a level of professional knowledge about flooring products in order to train staff to provide proper service to customers.
Resolve customer service issues and complaints by documenting and responding to service calls, ensuring proper completion and quality of all service calls, and taking action to resolve and prevent further issues.
Accounting responsibility for handling installers' payroll, verifying invoices, tracking accounts payable, and conducting customer collection calls.

In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level. This job may also require you to drive between multiple locations including, but not limited to, installation and customer sites. The operations manager will be expected to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, standards, and products of Carpet One.
