Job Description
I.
Purpose:
The responsibility of the Lamination Assistant position is to provide support for the lamination operator, provide guidance for lamination helper and to produce high quality laminated materials in a safe and efficient manner, according to the daily production schedule and client specifications.
II.
Duties
-
Follows safe operating procedures and complies with all EHS and GPM guidelines to ensure that only the highest safety standard is maintained.

Performs tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors

Meets company’s attendance requirements, including timely reporting of absence and working overtime as requested
-
Assists the operator in the setup and operation of a web fed machine to laminate or coat roll stock
-
Follows instructions of operator to maintain maximum machine efficiency and product quality
-
Checks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications, read specs and verify machine set-up to spec.

Performs basic operator preventative maintenance to machines and/or tools

Complies with all process change control policies and procedures.

Inspects running web and finished rolls to ensure quality standards are met.

Checks and monitors viscosities regularly.

Responsible for disposal and upkeep of hazardous waste and hazardous waste area.

Assists operator in problem solving and decision making.
-
Fills in for operator or helper if needed.
-
Prepares make-ready for upcoming jobs (such as speedwells, solvents, cylinders, trollies, material).

Maintains a neat and orderly work area in accordance to 5S standards, by cleaning spills and disposing of trash on a timely basis

Participates in on-the-job training and instruction to learn other job tasks

Complies with Company policies and perform other duties as assigned
III.
Knowledge
1.
Requirements
-
Must possess strong working knowledge of lamination process.
-
Must possess the ability to operate basic hand tools.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

High School education or equivalent

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a lamination department..

Daily contact with maintenance workers, shift supervisor, production employees and production planners.

Limit exposure to external contacts.
V.
Responsibility
Responsible for producing laminated material in a safe, efficient and profitable manner.
VI.
Physical Requirements
The position requires an employee to stand and walk for an extended period of time. Exposure to moderate noise levels and potentially hazardous materials. Must be able to lift a maximum of 55 lbs and must adhere to PPE and GMP requirements. Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case by case situation.
