Folder Operator Assistant jobs in Lowell, MA

Job Summary

Operates equipment to fold, score, slit and perf sheets of paper per individual job specifications and quality standards in an efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reads and understands job ticket information, sample, and other supplied specifications to achieve job requirements.
• Understands folding configurations for both finished pieces and signatures.
• Sets up equipment using established process.
• Runs machine to fold, score, slit and perf product to meet job specifications.
• Loads flat sheets into folder.
• Jogs, stack, bands, and boxes folded sheets.
• Checks quality of product throughout the run.
• Adjusts machine throughout run to achieve optimum production and product quality.
• Performs routine maintenance according to established procedures.
• Keeps folder accessories, parts, and tools in their proper storage locations when not in use.
• Maintains an organized work area to ensure line clearance of product.
• Properly documents count per job specifications.

Education

• High school diploma/GED.
• 2 years’ experience in the print industry
• Knowledge of running bindery equipment, preferably folders.

Skills

• Knowledge of paper folding techniques.
• Effective problem-solving skills to resolve production and quality issues.
• Responsive to changing requirements and priorities.
• Committed to continuous improvement.
• Safe operation of equipment and within area used to perform tasks.
