Additionally, Food & Beverage Director typically reports to top management. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     The Food & Beverage Director provides leadership and management of the Food & Beverage Division by establishing quality plans which result in the long-range continued growth and profitability of the division and resort. The ideal candidate will lead a culture that inspires associates to be caring, engaged and focused on creating memorable experiences for our guests. The food in our outlets will support the vitality of our guests, leaning into making options that are health-forward, while still providing familiar cuisine for all of our guests to enjoy.


    The Food & Beverage is responsible for assuring attentive friendly courteous and efficient service in all F&B Outlets (Restaurant Room Service Lounge Market and Banquets) while maintaining adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead cost. 

    He/she is also responsible for continually working towards improving Restaurant, Room Service, Lounge, Market and Banquet sales revenues to meet or exceed budget. The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for directing and organizing the activities of the Food and Beverage Department to ensure a consistently high-quality food product while at the same time developing his/her team and driving a positive work environment. In addition this position is charged with consistently improving guest and employee satisfaction. The incumbent in this role may function in the role of a Chef as required. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

    Requirements

      Education & Experience:

    · At least 5 years of progressive hotel F&B experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related F&B experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 years of F&B sales experience.

    · Management experience required.

    · Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.

    -Must be skilled in Windows, Excel and Company approved spreadsheets and word processing 

      

    Physical requirements:

    · Shift and weekend hours sometimes required.

    · Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


    Work environment:

    · Indoor and outdoor hotel building, kitchens, banquet areas, rooms, pools,  facilities, and structures.


    General Requirements

    · Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.

    · Supervise all F&B personnel for assigned areas.

    · Participate in preparing the F&B budget(s) and monitor department performance with respect to the same. Perform any necessary follow-up, including forecasting.

    · Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by associates and guests.

    · Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

    · Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

    · Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.

    · Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.

    · Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.

    · Maintain own and associates’ schedules and attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by productivity scheduling, which will vary according to the budget and needs of the hotel.

    · Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.

    · Comply with The Springs Resort and Spa standards and regulation to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

    · Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.

    · Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving  problems as necessary.

    · Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

    · Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

    · Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.

    · Perform other duties as requested by management.
