Food & Beverage Director directs and oversees all aspects of the organization's food and beverage planning and service, with duties to include menu planning and costs, preparation and presentation of food and drinks, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Plans, coordinates, and oversees special events. Being a Food & Beverage Director may identify marketing opportunities to promote food and beverage products. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Food & Beverage Director typically reports to top management. The Food & Beverage Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Food & Beverage Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • SUMMARY

     

    Food Service Supervisors provide leadership and direction to Food Service Attendants and Bartenders, and ensure that they follow all operational and food safety procedures while continuing service in a speedy and expeditious fashion.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES which may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

     

    1.    Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.

    2.    Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.

    3.    Must be able to perform the duties of a Food Service Attendant and Bartender.

    4.    Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.

    5.    Control inventories of food, equipment, small ware and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel.

    6.    Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service.

    7.    Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.

    8.    Estimate supplies required to prepare for opening.

    9.    Able to communicate verbally with guests and other employees.

    10. Ability to follow and accomplish instructions & procedures.

    11. Ensures that all Food Service Attendants follow Splash Lagoon Policies and Procedures.

    12. Food Services Supervisor may initiate and follow disciplinary actions up to but NOT   including suspension and/or termination.

    13. Must be willing to perform other task and or related duties as assigned or required by         management when necessary.

    14. Willingness to work a flexible work schedule as dictated by business and or/staffing demands.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1.    This employee is responsible for maintaining an environment that is both safe and pleasant for patrons.

    2.    This employee is required to assist in maintaining a high level of customer service (Aloha Spirit).

    3.    This employee may be required, to supervise other employees.

    4.    This employee may be required to handle and dispense alcoholic beverages in a proper fashion.

    5.    This employee performs other tasks and/or related duties as assigned or required by management and supervisors when necessary.

    6.    This employee is to wear approved uniform and any necessary job-related equipment during assigned shift or anytime while on duty.

    7.    This employee may be subject to both pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening during tenure of employment.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    1.    Ability to properly and safely operate equipment used.

    2.    Must be 18 years of age or older.

    3.    Demonstrated ability to work independently.

    4.    Ability to communicate effectively with public, guests and staff members.

    5.    Must have emotional stability and the ability to make sound decisions that conform to facility policies when dealing in adverse situations.

    6.    Knowledge that their decisions may affect the total facility and the lives of others.

    7.    Must be firm, fair, consistent and courteous in order to gain the respect and cooperation of the public.

    8.    Must have a positive attitude in order to fully cooperate with other employees in a team effort, and adhere to rules and regulations to ensure successful operation of a facility.

    9.    Must have the physical and mental conditions necessary to be able to properly and timely activate and complete the EAP system in the case of an emergency.

    10. Must possess good oral communication skills.

    11. Must be skilled in the use and care of supplied equipment.

    12. Independent judgment concerning work methods and procedures is required.

     

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    1.    Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.

    2.    2-3 years supervisory experience.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

     

    1.    Must be able to obtain Serve Safe Certification.

    2.    Must acquire TIPS training Certification.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

     

    1.    Ability to stand for long periods of time.

    2.    Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb without any difficulty.      

    3.    Ability to effectively work at different heights.

    4.    Works in tiring or uncomfortable positions or situations for long periods of time.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT 

     

    1.    Able to work in team environment as a team member and as team leader.

    2.    Must work in environmental conditions that include, but not limited to:

    a.    Wet and humid environments.

    b.    Indoor environmental conditions with up to 90% humidity and temperatures ranging from 70F to 120 F.

    3.    Possible exposure to chemicals, fumes, dirt, caustic chemicals, acids, odors, waste, and dust.

    4.    Uniformed position.
