Food & Beverage Manager manages the daily activities of the organization's food and beverage function. Oversees food and beverage inventory and budget control. Being a Food & Beverage Manager assists the Food and Beverage Director in menu planning, preparation and presentation of food and drinks, and monitoring adherence to quality and safety standards. Assists in the planning and coordination of special events. Additionally, Food & Beverage Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.     Description

    The Daniel Island Club is a prestigious private club that offers its members a full range of recreational and social amenities. These include two championship golf courses, tennis, swimming, a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, both elegant and casual dining and banquet facilities. Our club is recognized and has an outstanding reputation for its commitment to excellence in the quality of services and experiences we provide to our members.

     

     

    As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be managing and leading a member a la carte dining room.  This front of the house position is responsible for building and maintain members relationships, fostering club culture, and supervising front of the house team members.
     

    To be successful in this role, you must:

    • Be a motivated, passionate, and driven leader, able to manage a diverse range of personalities and skill sets

    • Demonstrate expertise in F&B related subjects relevant to the club and member interests

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Directly supervise FOH personnel and operations during assigned shifts
    • Proactively manage the ‘Member Experience’
    • Be present and engaged by establishing relationships with the membership
    • Resolve customer service opportunities or other disputes, and mediate staff issues in a fair and patient manner
    • Have service-based leadership style that fosters teamwork and common goals
    • Seek efficiencies in departmental operating costs while maintaining quality of product and service
    • Exercise good judgement and creative problem-solving when faced with challenges
    • Ensure prompt, courteous service is consistently provided to all internal and external customers
    • Interact effectively and professionally with all other departments
    • Perform additional duties as requested by the Clubhouse Manager and Director of Club Operations

     

    Qualifications


     

    1. Minimum of two (2) years previous management experience, private club or high-end resort preferred.
    2. Very strong beer, wine and liquor knowledge, especially in wine and spirits
    3. Knowledge of liquor laws, compliance, and safety, as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages
    4. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and with minimal supervision
    5. Professional appearance and engaging, enthusiastic demeanor
    6. Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as scheduling may vary based on business needs
