Food Server - Institution is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders to diners in an institutional setting. Ensures correct and prompt delivery of food. Being a Food Server - Institution may also be responsible for dish cleaning and sorting, garbage collecting as well as food preparation and light cooking. Duties
· Greet guests.
· Have coasters ready to place on the table.
· Approach guests with a draft, bottle, and food menu.
· Be prepared to answer questions about beer styles.
· Give recommendations to guests.
· Give alternatives to beers we don’t carry or are out of stock on.
· Always take a credit card when starting a tab for someone or take cash immediately from guests who aren’t beginning a tab.
· Ring in each order immediately; do not hold orders.
· Pick up drink orders from service station immediately.
· Keep tables clear of empty glasses and trash.
· Wipe down tables when necessary.
· Check bathrooms frequently for cleanliness.
· Work as a team with other staff members.
Training
· Servers will complete beer university classes and successfully pass the final exam before being able to train on the floor.
· New hires will spend 3 training shifts on the floor for 3 hours each shift shadowing the server trainer on how to approach a guest, what to say, what to suggest, and POS training.
