Food Server - Institution is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders to diners in an institutional setting. Ensures correct and prompt delivery of food. Being a Food Server - Institution may also be responsible for dish cleaning and sorting, garbage collecting as well as food preparation and light cooking. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Food Server - Institution typically reports to a supervisor. The Food Server - Institution possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Summary: Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving food and beverages.
- Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
- Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
- Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
- Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
- Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
- Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
- Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
