Train to become a Thermal Process Authority through continuing education and hands on experience by performing cold spot evaluation subsequent and heat penetration studies, issuing thermal process recommendations, conducting heat distributions to clear updated or new retort installations for can and glass operations and evaluating and approving customer process deviations
Enhances company’s position regarding the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Promotes a safe work environment and safe procedures / practices in the laboratory. Participates in Food Safety, HACCP, and Food Defense teams by conducting risk assessments and vulnerability studies. Develops technical solutions and seeks technical input from customers regarding their product needs. Engages in customer interactions to aid in new product development which generates increased sales.
Leverages expertise to resolve the customer’s technical support issues and propose potential product / process improvements. Develops and maintains supplier technical contact communication. Supports and provides technical feedback to suppliers when confronted with internal or customer issues. Proactively trials new, cutting-edge materials to provide a competitive edge that can be passed down to customers utilizing accelerated shelf-life studies.
Qualifications:
BS in Food Science, Biology or Chemistry
3 years of experience in food processing with understanding of raw material chemistry and manufacturing processes.
Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, knowledge of SAP and pricing management systems is a plus.
Knowledge / Training in FSMA, HACCP, PCQI, SQF, and Food Defense is a plus.
Salary $90-100K, 10% bonus based on company performance, company benefits, relocation assistance.
