Food Server - Institution is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders to diners in an institutional setting. Ensures correct and prompt delivery of food. Being a Food Server - Institution may also be responsible for dish cleaning and sorting, garbage collecting as well as food preparation and light cooking. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Food Server - Institution typically reports to a supervisor. The Food Server - Institution possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Starting pay range: $10.50-$11.50
Serve food and beverage to guest in a timely, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable manner using the Company’s Practices, while adhering to Board of Health guidelines as well as current CDC guidelines. -Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.
-Work cards are to be on your person at all times during shift. Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with alcohol awareness training.
-Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image that reflects the Company’s best practices.
-Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so. Comply with Board of Health Standards as well as current CDC guidelines.
-Must maintain the Company’s personal grooming and uniform standard per your position and the Company’s policies.
-Have knowledge where your MSDS booklet is located in your area.
-Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.
-Maintain a score of 85% or higher on all written exams. -Must have complete knowledge of all food and beverage items including but not limited to ingredients and daily specials and pricing.
-The ability to use suggestive up-selling (i.e., desserts, appetizers, beverages, etc.).
-Follow the Company’s 4 steps of Service in taking customer’s order and accurately input into the P.O.S. system. Serve the table completely, observing guest position and the Company’s standards of service.
-Observe and anticipate guest’s needs, keeping beverages filled throughout their meals according to training.
-Maintain ownership of the table’s cleanliness and overall appearance by pre-bussing, bussing and removing debris from tables.
-Complete assigned side-work in a timely manner and any additional task with a degree of Teamwork.
-Present check for payment in a timely manner after service and return promptly when tendered, always ensuring that credit card slips are signed.
