Minerva Healthcare and Rehab is now seeking a Social Service and Activity Director for our skilled nursing facility.

This Dual Role presents a unique opportunity to help and encourage residents to feel engaged and also work as the representative for social interests. Social Service Director:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a human services field including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology.
• Licensure or certification as a social worker in the state of OH
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Experience in Skilled Nursing preferred
• Excellent communication skills

  Responsibilities of Activity Director:

  • Develops, maintains and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs
  • Establishes and maintains on-going contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations and other useful resources for program development.
  • Recruits, plans and manages volunteer opportunities for the community
  • Manages, trains and develops staff and volunteers
  • Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts
  • Works with marketing to assist in the planning of community/resident events
  • Coordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle
  • One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs
  • Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers and the public
