Food Services Director - Nursing Home directs and oversees food service for patients, employees, and visitors in a nursing home environment.     Qualifications

    The Assistant Director of Food Services must have prior work experience with large quantity food preparation and supervisory duties. The person must possess a high degree of knowledge regarding proper food preparation, sanitation, and safety procedures as related to a food service operation. The person must be able to work under pressure and be able to make good decisions while being able to direct others to carry out duties assigned. The person must be able to work cooperatively with fellow employees. The person must enjoy working with learners and others.

    Function

    The terms of employment will be for the period of the school term. The assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Food Services.

    Major duties assigned, but not limited to:

    • Secure substitute personnel for regular employees as needed.
    • Schedule and direct learner food service workers as needed.
    • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety for the kitchen staff in food preparation.
    • Check in food and supplies received, provide proper storage, and account for invoices and inventory. Place food in proper rotation on the shelf.
    • Direct clean-up of kitchen and equipment.
    • Participate in state-sponsored workshops.
    • Work with administration in developing new methods of food preparation, efficiencies in service, economics, etc.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty pounds

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $23.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
