  • Job Summary:

    • In collaboration with the Trauma Center Medical Director, is responsible for the planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and ongoing evaluation of Trauma services.

    In this role you will:

    • Demonstrates twenty-four-hour responsibility and accountability for nursing practice, and quality of care and services within assigned departments. Develops and maintains standards of care of the trauma patient as set by state, federal and regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborates and maintains liaison role to assure cooperation with police, state attorney, medical examiner's office regarding criminal investigations/evidentiary requirements.
    • Analyzes data, identifies trends/areas for improvement in processes, structures, and systems impacting trauma care patients’ outcomes. Collaborates with Trauma Registry personnel to assure validly of Trauma Registry Data.
    • Collaborates with the medical staff and other personnel representatives of allied groups in the planning and coordinator in of the delivery of health care services to patients, such as case management and critical care paths.
    • Monitors and evaluates the continuum of trauma care from the point of EMS entry to rehabilitation and discharge.
    • Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate resources, staffing levels, competency of staff, maintenance/ and performance of equipment, physical space, and training and education of staff.
    • Collaborates with Trauma Medical Director/trauma physicians to troubleshoot/problem-solve issues related to trauma patient care or process and refer to appropriate source for correction action.

    Job Requirements:

    • Current Florida State Registered Nurse license
    • Bachelor’s Degree required (BSN or healthcare related field preferred)
    • Minimum 2 years in a trauma setting.
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC or ATCN; or BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Instructor issued by AHA or American Red Cross
    • This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

    Qualifications:

    • Must be an RN, Bachelor’s Degree required, minimum 2 years in a hospital trauma setting (with additional nursing experience in ICU/ER settings), minimum 1 year as a Manager/Director over a hospital trauma program.

     

     

     

    • This position is required for ALL trauma programs, regardless of the level – so this is an extremely urgent position to fill.
    • Reports to Chief Operating Officer
    • 4 Direct Reports: 2 Trauma RNs (RNs that work specifically for the trauma program and handle case reviews), 1 injury prevention coordinator, and 1 administrative assistant.

    Day-to-day:

    • More of an operations role (versus just a nursing director position)
    • Work closely with Trauma Medical Director to oversee the day-to-day inner-workings of the trauma program.
    • Must cover all patients birth through death (so if a pregnant mom comes in after a car accident, will be responsible for mom and baby)
    • Round all units, mainly Emergency Department – speak with night shift first thing in the morning, round with surgeons, touch base with trauma RNs, handle any patient complaints, monitor trauma-driven metrics, handle any issues/delays with labs, etc.

     

    Salary will range from about $100-145K annually (based on experience - $135-145K mark requires 15 years of leadership experience)

    plus 15% annual bonus eligibility

    relocation offered if coming from out-of-state (probably about 10-15K)
