Food Services Director - Nursing Home directs and oversees food service for patients, employees, and visitors in a nursing home environment. Develops, manages, and maintains food service policies and procedures in accordance with administrative directives and professional standards. Being a Food Services Director - Nursing Home reviews menus and supervises the handling, preparation, and storage of food. Oversees equipment maintenance, record keeping and all sanitation activities. Additionally, Food Services Director - Nursing Home requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Food Services Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Director of Nursing Services (DNS) develops a collaborative and efficient workplace with specific attention to quality resident care. The Director of Nursing Services (DNS) performs a range of duties, including maintaining the Nursing Department, setting long-term goals, and overseeing record-keeping processes.
Requirements for Director of Nursing Services (DNS):
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Will interview those with RN Unit Manager or RN Supervisor experience.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- In-depth knowledge of legal policies and regulations in the healthcare industry
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
