    Granite Recovery Centers is looking for a food service assistant manager to be responsible for assisting the food services manager in the operations and daily activities of a kitchen. They are responsible for every single meal that is served out of the kitchen. The assistant manager would be responsible for greeting clients, assisting with ordering food and supplies, assisting with resolving client issues and complaints, and training new employees. The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions and management experience. The ability to support and assist the day-to-day operations of a highly productive, fast-paced kitchen. Ensure the kitchen is run efficiently, mitigate risk, and ensure the needs of the clients and staff are met by the kitchen and the kitchen staff.

    Job Functions

    • Solve any client complaints or issues as needed
    • Train and educate new employees
    • Assist with the schedule of staff and cover when needed
    • Ensure high quality food comes from the kitchen
    • Assist with the development of the menu for the kitchen
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
    • Ability to place orders for food and supplies that are needed
    • Assist in planning for and preparing food for special facility events
    • Assist Head Chef to develop quality initiatives within the kitchen specific to food quality and presentation
    • Develop facility-specific strategies in conjunction with leadership and the Head Chef on ways to assure superior patient satisfaction with all meals
    • Other duties as assigned


    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s degree or culinary degree preferred not required.
    • 1-3 year working/managing a kitchen.
    • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions;
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Proven record of customer service skills
    • Strategic thinker with effective planning skills
    • Exhibits a supportive and collaborative leadership style
    • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, making sound decisions, completing tasks in a timely manner, delegating, and following up on tasks
    • Models' professionalism, collaborative efforts, and teamwork.
    • Exhibits good time management skills
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as position and events require
    • Demonstrated relationship building and organization skills
    • Ability to multi-task and ensure expectations are consistently exceeded; ability to build and maintain timelines, budgets, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
