Food Services Manager oversees the daily operations of the organization's food service function. Monitors inventory levels and purchases food, kitchen equipment, and other supplies as needed. Being a Food Services Manager provides related training and supervises service staff. Establishes quality standards for foods and maintains cleanliness of the facilities in accordance with state or local regulations. Additionally, Food Services Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Food Services Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Responsibilities: (willing to train)
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef or kitchen manager
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment
-Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and addressing customer concerns
- Buss tables and maintain cleanliness in the dining area
- Assist with stocking inventory and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a cash register accurately
- Basic culinary knowledge and understanding of food preparation techniques is beneficial
- Knowledge of proper sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment
