Food Services Supervisor supervises the daily operations of the organization's food service function. Maintains food storage level and report when it's low. Being a Food Services Supervisor reviews menus and supervises the handling and preparation. Ensures quality standards for foods are followed. Additionally, Food Services Supervisor maintains cleanliness of working area and the facilities. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Food Services Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Responsibilities:- Setting tables appropriately
- Serving food to residents
- Informing residents of menu choices
- Delivering meals in timely manner
- Clearing and washing tables
- Performing various tasks as assigned by kitchen supervisor
- Following ServSafe Guidelines to prevent time/temperature contamination.
- Must be able to work needed shifts; Available on short notice to help cover shifts or assist kitchen staff.
Requirements:- No experience necessary; prefer at least 6 months experience working in institutional food preparation
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate verbal and written
- Ability to deal with emergencies calmly and efficiently
- Understanding standards related to food, service and cleanliness
- Ability to work irregular hours and demonstrate flexibility.
