Food Services Supervisor supervises the daily operations of the organization's food service function. Maintains food storage level and report when it's low. Being a Food Services Supervisor reviews menus and supervises the handling and preparation. Ensures quality standards for foods are followed. Additionally, Food Services Supervisor maintains cleanliness of working area and the facilities. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Food Services Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Performs a variety of specialized duties related to the maintenance and organization of the department, including monitoring patient tray line and cafeteria service, visiting patients, departmental scheduling and staffing, preparing production sheets, sanitation, opening and closing procedure, including cash verification, and monitoring special catering events.

    Required qualifications:

    • Coursework/Training: On the job training will be provided.
    • Required within 6 months (180 days) of hire: National ServSafe Manager Certification - National Restaurant Association
    • Experience in food establishments.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Upon hire: Certified Dietary Manager or equivalent
    • Hospital or healthcare food service experience.
