EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Organizes assigned supervisory nursing work and develops effective work methods. Assigns and instructs professional nursing and other employees assigned to the unit and supervises the performance of their work.
Accompanies physicians on their rounds, assists them with examinations of patients, and takes the measures needed to see that their orders are carried out by the nursing and attending staff.
Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of the organizational unit and evaluates employee performance and conduct, enabling the effective recommendation of the hiring, firing, promoting, and disciplining of< subordinates.
Admits and discharges patients into and from the building or area and supervises and personally keeps the required records.
Sees that a professional and correct attitude is maintained among the members of the staff.
Prepares clear, sound, accurate, and professional detailed reports.
Maintains and supervises the maintenance of essential records, reports, and files.
May be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of experience as a professional nurse in a hospital, clinic, school system, or other institution. (Private duty experience is not acceptable experience). One year experience in Long-Term-Care (LTC) is a must.
LICENSE:
Registration or eligibility for registration as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
NOTE: Interviews will be afforded based on the cover letter, resume, and copy of registration as professional nurse submitted.
