**Starting Pay Rate: Food Counter Cashier - $11.50/Hourly Tips.. tip currently average an additional $5-$10 per hour (Full Time & Part Time)

**Shift Time: 4PM-MIDNIGHT & Open and Availability

JOB SUMMARY: The Food Counter Cashier at the new Casino Food Hall provides friendly, excellent service to all customers who come to the casino’s food outlets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conducts assigned duties according to procedures. Greets guests quickly and courteously and fill guests’ food and beverage orders.
• Helps service guests as necessary in a team aspect. Itemizes totals and presents guests with the price for payment.
• Operates cash register and properly settles checks. Enters guests’ checks in cash register, takes money from customer and accurately gives back change.
• Responsible for accurate control of cash drawer. Understands variance policy of cash drawer and maintains low variance. Knows how to ring up all transactions and all tenders.
• Assists the Service Attendants/Counter Attendants/Culinary areas when needed.
• Records all tips collected from credit cards and comps.
• Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers.
• Keeps all guest areas clean and neat.
• Complies with all appearance standards. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years old or older to work in a casino
• High school graduate or GED required. 1-year experience in customer service.
• Prior experience as a cashier required, preferably in the hospitality industry is a necessity.
• Must possess basic math skills. Must be able to count cash drawer accurately.
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to maneuver to all areas of assigned restaurant throughout entire shift. Must be able to accurately and quickly process all cash transactions.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
