Position Description
Position: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager
Department: Food & Beverage
Position Summary:
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage service for the resort. Directly supervises all food and beverage staff including service staff and outlet staff. Assist in hiring and training of food & beverage staff. Ensure proper training and supervision of all service employees to deliver prompt, courteous service in a manner that adheres to Sand Valley Food & Beverage service operating standards and company policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure customer service standards are achieved with minimum employee cost. Ensure compliance with company payroll policies and procedures.
· Ensure maintenance of all appropriate sanitation standards including, but not limited to, employee hygiene, uniforms, kitchen food service equipment, preparation areas, food storage areas, receiving areas, washing areas, dining areas, patio, snack bar areas, bar areas, restrooms, and beverage carts.
· Cleanliness and preventative maintenance for appropriate fixtures, equipment, vehicles, etc.
· Implement, monitor and maintain par-stock levels on food and beverage inventories to ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases.
· Monitor cost controls for the department. Ensure quality levels of food and beverage products and maintain standards in production, presentation, services, facilities, and guest satisfaction.
· Manage employment activities for applicable staff members, including but not limited to, personnel recruitment, performance evaluations, training, compensation, discipline and termination, etc.
· Assist in staff training in accordance with Sand Valley Food & Beverage Manuals.
· Assist Guests with wine selections with the direction from our Wine Director.
· Restocking and inventory of all wine in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and Wine Director.
· Contribute to profitability by assisting in maintaining all beverage controls including key security of all beverage product.
· Display a thorough knowledge of cash handling responsibilities in accordance with resort operating standards.
· Demonstrate a sense of financial responsibility by limiting spills/mistakes as well as tracking such to meet budgeted cost percentages.
· Train, develop, coach, counsel and discipline staff in conjunction with Human Resources, to ensure adherence to service standards and company policies and procedures.
· Foster cooperation and teamwork among all Food & Beverage staff.
· Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to industry periodicals and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
· 2 years applicable functional, supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in the F&B industry, with solid service standard knowledge.
· Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of fiscal and staff management.
· Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
· Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
· Proven team-building skills.
· Advanced Microsoft Office and POS computer experience necessary.
· High level of attention to detail as well as proven organizational skills.
· Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and able to improve performance through management feedback.
· Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
