Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Comptroller with a strong accounting background to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in financial decision-making, providing strategic financial input to senior management while overseeing the overall accounting process. The Comptroller will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team of sta members including functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, project budgets, and
actual expenditures.
Coordinate all audit activities.
Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the companys financial status.
Assist company leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare actual results to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
Oversee all financial project/program accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with project budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
Qualications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience with construction accounting or in a related industry preferred. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
