Forecast Planning Manager manages the organization's forecast planning function using inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to estimate output. Gathers and evaluates data to develop solutions for increasing production. Being a Forecast Planning Manager may work with vendors, customers, and other departments within the organization to determine optimal inventory levels. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Forecast Planning Manager typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Forecast Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Degrees inclusive of the occupational field include urban planning, public administration, economics, geography, civil engineering, environmental studies, business administration, or another related field. Post-secondary education or experience which provides the expertise required to perform effectively the functions of the position may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the development, operation or management of programs within the occupational field, sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, including three years of supervisory experience and three (3) years of management experience. Progressively responsible experience includes performing municipal, land use, transportation, environmental, and urban development planning duties; designing and administering planning programs and processes, and/or performing professional duties relevant to work that will be performed (research, analytical thinking, translating complex information into easy-to-understand concepts, data mapping and spatial analysis, drafting of clear reports, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, team building, presenting information verbally and in writing internally and to members of the public, implementing, etc.).
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification desired.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
Completion of required Incident Command System (ICS) courses in accordance with established Borough policy.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
