Position Summary: The UIMG Securities Trader / Operations Specialist works under broad portfolio manager oversight and in conjunction with the Lead Specialist in selecting and building appropriate fixed income portfolios. Serves as an administrator for UIMG operational systems related to trading and data analysis.  Serves as a resource for testing new functions/processes and training department on use.  Responsible for mutual fund and equity trading execution, ensuring all equity securities and mutual funds are traded accurately and efficiently while achieving best execution.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate with Lead Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely trading of fixed-income positions. Continually monitor and track multiple broker/dealer inventories. Work/negotiate directly with brokers/dealers in execution of fixed-income trades.
• Coordinate with Lead Specialist to ensure the timely and accurate execution of mutual fund and equity trades in accordance with established processes and procedures.  Includes serving as the primary equity trader. 
• Provide assistance in ensuring all intra- and inter-departmental operational questions pertaining to securities trading and data integrity are addressed in a timely manner.   
• Assist UIMG analytical function in providing ongoing fixed-income analytical support including but not limited to industry/sector, yield curve, spread, and credit quality analyses.
• Assist portfolio managers with the monitoring and investing of fixed income portfolios. Work under broad portfolio manager guidelines in selecting and building appropriate fixed income portfolios. Maintain a working knowledge of fixed income markets while monitoring and reporting changing conditions to portfolio managers.
• Develop an in-depth functional understanding of UIMG systems and software. Assist Lead Specialist in the administration of third-party technology providers and as an administrator for programs and software as appropriate. 
• Work with software vendor/operations group to correct performance issues.
• Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
• Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
• Assist in the preparation of customized quarterly and ad hoc client updates for Portfolio Managers.   
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

• 4 year degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• 1-3 years union investment management experience preferred.
• Experience in UIMG systems and software preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Working Environment:
