OVERVIEW:
The position of Insurance Advisor at Newcoast is responsible for the development of new business by working with potential customers who are in the process of completing a boat or RV transaction with Newcoast or one of our family of companies. The goals of the insurance advisor are to:
- Build and maintain strong positive relationships with new prospects as well as existing customers.
- Work with referral sources to develop insurance options for clients ensure steady book growth
- Increase Newcoast’s reputation as the premier provider of recreational insurance services.
- Work closely with carriers, sales and management to maintain a sustainable production pipeline that aligns with agency strategy, placement appetite and steady growth.
KEY TASKS:
- Achieve customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.
- Cultivate relationships with Newcoast sales teams and business offices.
- Prospect new boat or RV insurance referral sources.
- Meet with existing and prospective clients via telephone, email and chat.
- Evaluate business or individual customers’ needs and propose risk management strategies and insurance policy plans that meet their criteria.
- Maintain production pipeline records in CRM systems.
o Develop and process new leads in the CRM system
o Track and maintain intelligence on all leads.
o Track and maintain all activities related to prospecting and deals in progress.
o Utilize dashboards and reporting to provide progress metrics to sales leadership.
o Participation in campaigns via CRM provided by the marketing team.
- Constantly update job knowledge through sales development training.
- Stay current on and learn about new insurance products and services.
- Participate in the quoting and placement process for new business.
KEY RESULTS:
- Meets individual book of business growth goals and new business targets.
- Maintains book of business renewal rate goals.
- Ensures that all insurance and work products delivered to prospects and customers meet the high-quality standards of Newcoast.
- Provide regular reporting and communication of metrics to demonstrate success of production pipeline activities, individual book growth and overall performance.
- Demonstrate continued personal improvement via growth of skillsets in sales methodology, insurance knowledge and general recreational industry knowledge.
- Identify areas of optimization and opportunities as well as provide informed recommendations for the insurance placement divisions and Newcoast leadership.
- Effective working relationships developed with other production team members, placement and service teams, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate improved alignment and processes between lead management and marketing automation solutions that lead to improved customer intelligence and a more seamless customer experience.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in insurance or recreational industry roles with an excellent understanding of placement, coverages and insurance operations.
- Preferred Resident Property & Casualty agent license required in candidate’s home state with ability to add non-resident licenses where necessary.
- Experience and understanding of Applied EPIC, CRM systems, analytics and other commonly used sales tools.
- The ideal candidate is a passionate insurance advocate with broad understanding of insurance placement and how to maximize results across multiple lines of business.
- Pro-active, organized, results driven, meets deadlines, self-driven, collaborative, technically savvy.
- This person must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to influence others and strong cross-functional leadership.
- This person is charismatic, friendly, and upbeat with ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
- The ideal candidate has experience and interest in recreational boating or RVing.
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
