    Location: 37573 US-30, Astoria, OR 97103

    Rate of pay: $20.81 per hour

    Work schedule:

    • Saturday (or Sunday) 9:00am – 5:45pm
    • Monday 11:00 – 7:45pm
    • Tuesday 11:00 – 7:45pm
    • Wednesday 11:00 – 7:45pm
    • Thursday 11:00 – 7:45pm

    Position summary:  A studies coordinator is responsible for monitoring the test of adult basic education (TABE) outcomes for those students identified as needing additional instructional support in the academic area of study. She/he is also responsible for facilitating tutoring for all students in a variety of subject areas.

    Essential responsibilities:

    • Review active reports along with the manager, academic programs, to determine the need for additional support in the academic area.
    • Monitor TABE scores and maintain tracking of student hours of instruction for TABE retest requirements.
    • Make scheduling recommendations for students to evening study activities based on tracking data.
    • Maintain and update required documentation related to student progress in academic folders in accordance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Department of Labor (DOL) policy.

    Education and experience requirements:

    • A bachelor's degree is necessary.
    • One (1) year of teaching experience or experience training others is required.
    • A current Oregon teaching certificate is preferred.
    • Experience working with youth (paid or volunteer) is needed.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as computer proficiency is required.
    • A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
