Forest Aide gathers and analyzes data regarding overall condition of forest tracts. May provide supervision to seasonal workers. Being a Forest Aide educates visitors on forest policies and regulations. Requires a high school diploma with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Forest Aide has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Responsibilities:
- Operate fork lifts to move lumber and other materials within the warehouse
- Build and assemble lumber products according to specifications
- Perform shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading trucks
- Inspect lumber for quality and ensure it meets safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all OSHA regulations and safety guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating fork lifts
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in building and assembling lumber products
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members
