Job Summary:
The Buildings and Grounds Manager Assistant is assist the B&G manager in carrying out B&G responsibilities. This includes the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all facilities and equipment used by the organization. The position involves landscaping and groundskeeping necessary to maintain safe and attractive grounds.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implement and complete building and grounds projects.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
- Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of groundskeeping and landscaping practices and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly.
- Thorough understanding of how to care for various types of lawns, greenery, and plants.
- Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Some On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling.
- Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
