Forest and Conservation Worker reforests and protects timber tracts and maintains forest facilities including roads and campsites. Applies a wide range of concepts. Being a Forest and Conservation Worker applies practical knowledge of practices and procedures from two or more specialized fields, such as forestry, soil science and/or agriculture. May require 2-4 years of related work experience. Additionally, Forest and Conservation Worker relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The California Conservation Corps' Santa Maria Center is looking for Corpsmembers to work and train on natural resource projects. No prior experience is necessary!

Work with U.S. Forest Service, State Parks, Caltrans, Dept. of Water Resources, CAL FIRE, Santa Barbara County Flood Control, and other local government agencies and non-profits on a variety of natural resource projects. Corpsmembers regularly go on to careers with USFS, CAL FIRE, State Parks, Caltrans, and other local community agencies.
Shift times and length may vary by assignment, but the program is a 40-hour per week commitment.
