    POSITION: Contract Forester

    TYPE: Full-Time

    POSITION LOCATIONS: Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties

    WAGE: $40 - $47

    DRG Pacific Services, a Davey Company, is a leader in the utility forestry industry. We provide a wide range of program planning, natural resource, utility, GIS and remote sensing consulting services. Our job is to help our clients provide a safe and reliable power source through proper vegetation management practices.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Pro-actively promote safety and maintain a safe work environment
    • May manage quality observations including Quality Assurance, Quality Verification, Work Verification and Vegetation Management inspections
    • Communicates with peers, exchanging ideas or gathering information on overall program plan and goals within a specific functional area of operations
    • Manage and oversee daily related vegetation operations to support client peers
    • Contributes to the implementation and creation of new concepts, processes and ideas to further vegetation management program advancement
    • Provide client and contractor support
    • Respond to customer complaints and concerns
    • May manage emergency work, i.e, for severe storms, wildfires and power shutoff events
    • Interact and/or coordinate work with local public agencies (i.e. State, County, City, Fire Department, Coastal Commission, etc.)
    • Develops new and ad-hoc reports, summarizes findings and recommendations
    • Delivers on the program implementation plan

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science, natural resources or related discipline
    • Organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
    • Ability to travel throughout PG&E’s service territory as needed
    • International Society for Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist
    • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) certified

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2 years vegetation management experience
    • Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle
