Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. We work with financial advisors and their donors to establish and administer AEF donor-advised fund accounts with the goal of increasing the amount granted to our donors’ causes and charities.


    POSITION SUMMARY


    The associate director of marketing is a member of the marketing & communications team, working closely with the senior director to plan and execute all marketing operations and initiatives in support of the organization’s business objectives and growth goals. The associate director will analyze client and marketing research materials, assess the impact of marketing programs, and develop innovative campaigns to drive brand recognition and growth, consistently ensuring that the organization's message is clearly defined and distributed across all channels and targeted audiences.


    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Executes marketing strategies. Collaborates and executes AEF’s strategic marketing initiatives, both internal and external, across multiple platforms. Creates and launches content and collateral for a variety of internal and external channels, often developing new marketing ideas to achieve business objectives. Stays current with marketing trends, tools, and best practices to continuously innovate and improve AEF's marketing efforts.
    • Directs promotional campaigns. Develops and executes external email campaigns and communication distribution. Develops the hands-on Salesforce platform campaign with a focus on journeys, automation, and engagement (including audience segmentation, defining test plans, and executing email campaigns).
    • Analyzes market research. Stays current with marketing trends, tools, and best practices to continuously innovate and improve AEF's marketing efforts.
    • Manages marketing budget.
    • Assesses campaign performance. Actively examines the results of marketing and promotional campaigns to gauge achievement of the intended level of client engagement and growth. Confers directly with the Office of Business Development to determine the campaign’s impact and uses this information to develop or improve future efforts. Prepares monthly and quarterly marketing reports.
    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business administration strongly preferred
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ hands-on experience managing marketing campaign execution within an in-house marketing department or working for an agency
    • Digital or direct marketing experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with CRM systems (i.e., Salesforce, Act-On, etc.)
    • Proficient with presentation software and design software

    SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE

    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
    • Results-driven with focus on campaign measurement and analysis
    • Ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment across multiple internal clients
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Strong analytical and project management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works well as part of a team structure
