Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We believe that this role is integral in ensuring the continued success of the Foundation’s long-standing relationships with donor groups through the strategic planning and execution of fundraising activities.  

    To serve this mission, you will be partnering heavily with marketing and community relations while reporting directly to the Board of Directors and the RWHS President and CEO. 

    As the RWHS Director of Foundation you will:

    • Define the Foundation's financial needs through preparation of annual budget, strategic plan and other approved plans and programs. 
    • Serve as an Ex Officio member with full voting rights of the RWHS Foundation Board of Directors and each committee functioning under authority of the RWHS Foundation.
    • Research and prepare grant proposals for the Foundation and provide ongoing grant oversight with timely, detailed reports to funders. 
    • Conceive, plan and execute all fundraising programs of the Foundation, based on specifically requested support for the short term and long term programs, services and facility needs of RWHS.  

    You may be a great fit if you have:

    • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or an analytical field. Master’s Degree preferred. 
    • Three to five years of directing development operations with a not-for-profit organization. 
    • Demonstrated success in all aspects of strategic planning, annual fund implementation and personal solicitation of major gifts.
