Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Position Description

    The Associate Director, ACMC Foundation is responsible for assisting in developing and managing a comprehensive corporate and foundations relations program. Accountable for the development, implementation and management of all foundation fundraising vehicles and processes. The fundraising vehicles include Annual Fund drives, Major Gifts programs, Capital Campaigns, Planned Giving and Endowments, Special Events and Special Projects.


    Position Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with the Executive Director, manage the day-to-day operations of ACMC Foundation including overseeing staff and volunteers.
    • Assist in the development of the annual budget and track income and expenses to ensure efficient and appropriate use of Foundation resources.
    • Assist in the development of long-term strategies to achieve the goals of the Foundation and ACMC Healthcare System.
    • Establish and maintain relationships and collaborations within the community. Represent and promote the Foundation through involvement in community organizations and activities. Actively participate in community philanthropic, service, and/or social organizations as appropriate.
    • Oversee and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in fundraising software. Generate reports as needed.
    • Develop and oversee all prospect, donor, gift tracking and data maintenance processes to ensure proper record-keeping, compliance with all legal requirements, and stewardship of all funds.
    • Oversee coordination and management of Volunteer Services including recruitment, placement and scheduling.
    • Conduct ongoing analysis of community and hospital needs to ensure maximum utilization of all charitable gifts.
    • Identify, cultivate and solicit philanthropic support by developing and maintaining relationships with donors and prospective donors. Assist in designing and implementing appropriate strategies for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, Planned Giving and Endowment activities.
    • Nurture a culture of philanthropic support among ACMC Caregivers, ACMC medical staff, Foundation and Healthcare System Boards of Trustees and the community-at-large.

    Qualifications

    Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Bachelor degree in Public Administration, Marketing, Non-Profit Management or a related field.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and demonstrate discretion in decision-making.
    • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals from all walks of life.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work toward and gain consensus.
    • Knowledge of Ashtabula County preferred.

    Required Length and Type of Experience:

    Minimum five (5) years’ previous experience, with thee (3) years in management in a multi-level healthcare organization. Experience managing staff and volunteers preferred.

    • Must be able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
    • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
