Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Provide Vision and Framework for Organization-Wide Professional and Personal Development.

    Using CTFF’s mission, relevant research data, best practices, partner feedback, and interdepartmental feedback, develop the ongoing professional and personal development for all Teaching Fellows. Research, design, and launch a custom Teaching Fellow comprehensive training program in order to synthesize Teaching Fellow professional development content and ensure all Teaching Fellows receive consistent information and guidance. The curriculum should be developed and backed by research and best practices within education, workforce, and youth development or similar industries. The curriculum is to include a wide swath of educational topics such as leadership development, English language arts and math tutorial intervention strategies, SPED standards, Physical Education and Wellness standards, STE(A)M standards, among others and will provide professional and personal development pathways that allow for Teaching Fellows to deepen their core knowledge of education, leadership, youth development, and the education sector in general. In line with CTFF’s strategic plan, create certification, micro-credentials, and college credit for these experiences. Provide guidance and strategic direction to Dream Manager (personal development) and ensure alignment of Dream Initiative functions within Teaching Fellows Academy training events as well as in all Learning & Development Department strategic plans. (Performs approximately 20% of the day)

    Provide Direct Oversight of the Learning & Development Department including CTFF’s Dream Initiative Program.

    Develop and implement department annual plan/goals; develop and manage department budget; monitor, drive, and report department goal progress; monitor and evaluate department monthly KPIs; supervise department personnel (including Dream Initiative Manager, Learning & Development Managers, and Specialists). Report key results to company directors, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders for strategic planning and informed decision making, maintaining knowledge in the department, keeping it up to date with the latest training practices, trends, and technology, model best practices in training and development activities to ensure maintenance of quality training programs and top performance. (Performs approximately 40% of the day)

    Develop and Implement Training Programs.

    Plan, coordinate, and execute Teaching Fellows Academies (TFA) 3-4 times per semester (6-8 times per school year). Develop and oversee implementation of educational tracks including but not limited to SPED Track, New Hire Track, Leadership Track, Future Leaders Track, and more. Oversee tracking and record-keeping of training and development attendance, and ensure accurate and timely import of employee training hours. Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with training & development policies and procedures. Develop, organize, and maintain training materials and resources. Evaluate training and training programs, measure results to monitor effectiveness, and modify programs as needed. Solicit field expert support (consultant/independent contractor) for specialty training program development as needed, and collaborate effectively with the consultant to ensure desired results are achieved. Develop and issue employee recognition programs in conjunction with Programming, Education Pathways, and Human Resources departments. Per CTFF strategic goals, align training with standards that result in the earning of certificates, micro-credentials, and or units and that ultimately lead to staff and community recognition of CTFF’s professional development.  (Performs approximately 30% of the day)

    Work Collaboratively with a Variety of Partners and Stakeholders. 

    Work cooperatively with key stakeholders, department heads, senior and site liaisons, and employees in developing effective training programs customized per region; coordinate and facilitate ongoing cross-department meetings to develop and assess training needs; coordinate with school district partners and region leads in meeting district and County Office of Education goals and expectations related to training; coordinate with the Human Resources team by incorporating any HR updates or new processes into leadership or new hire training tracks at professional development events; coordinate with other partners and stakeholders to collaborate on the development and implementation of specialty professional development tracks. (Performs approximately 5% of the day)

    Qualifications


    Education/Training/Experience/License Required:

    A four (4) year college degree is required. A Master’s degree or Doctorate in Education preferred (work experience creating professional development and workforce training will be considered in lieu of advanced degrees). Minimum of five years of work experience as a trainer or instructor and/or in curriculum and training development. Experience in higher education or K-16 preferred, along with knowledge of teaching modalities, curriculum, sequencing, and connecting frameworks. Experience with or a basic understanding of the field of afterschool programming/expanded learning preferred, along with an understanding of how the expanded learning workforce ties into education pathways. Must be fluent in the English language; possess the ability to coordinate the work and activities of others, schedule work and activities, organizing, planning and prioritizing work, and developing and building teams; be able to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships; be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, personnel and the public; must have experience with and an understanding of cultural competencies, human development, and generational differences in learning styles (ex. Gen Z), and how to respond appropriately as CTFF works with diverse populations; must possess basic administration and management skills; skilled in active listening, speaking, monitoring/assessing performance; maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; analytical and problem solving skills; stress, organizational and time management skills; computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office software and Google Suite; experience with event management systems (EMS) such as Socio/Webex preferred; be able to work in a fast-paced work environment and be willing to engage in occasional evening and weekend work; possess a high degree of trustworthiness; respect and sensitivity for others; flexibility and a solid work ethic; and meet job related goals and objectives.
