Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Overview

    • The Program Manager/Treasurer shall facilitate the essential functions and operations of the Lower Dauphin Falcon Foundation (LDFF), including planning, coordinating and promoting LDFF events and activities as directed by the LDFF Board of Directors (Board).
    • Position requires an average of 8-10 hrs./wk. Time commitment will vary throughout the year based on the timing of Foundation events.
    • Annual Salary of $15,000 with addition of up to $500 mileage stipend.

    Principal Activities

    • Report to the executive committee of the Board, including the Superintendent.· Provide leadership to planning, implementing, evaluating and refining the work of LDFF.
    • Plan, coordinate and promote LDFF.
    • Manage finances and all critical paperwork (e.g., renewals, vendor contracts, Small Games of Chance License, EITC application) of the LDFF.
    • Manage LDFF allocations, inclusive of grants and scholarships, working in tandem with the Allocation Committee Chair.
    • Assist with public relations and marketing efforts, including website and social media management.
    • Check in with Committee Chairs after committee meetings to ensure alignment on action items and decisions made. Ensure that planning committee members are well- informed of the activities. Participate as assigned on committees and task work.· Prepare agenda for Board meetings and follow up to ensure assigned tasks are completed.
    • Continue to cultivate new and existing community and school district relationships (e.g., local non-profits, businesses, community organizations).
    • Assist in grant writing and accessing and researching potential grants for the Board.
    • Assist with developing appropriate program policies, procedures and strategic planning for the LDFF.
    • Assure compliance with pertinent local, state and federal regulations.
    • Serve as a non-voting member of the Board.
    • Complete other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field or 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, business administration or non-profit management.
    • Proven experience managing multiple projects, planning and coordinating programs, budgeting, grant writing, fundraising and marketing.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills and ability to demonstrate initiative and creative thinking skills.
    • Ability to make decisions and recommendations and to organize workload with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to develop and manage a yearly budget and finances.
    • Ability to work with diverse people and establish and maintain effective working relationships with community members, parents, educators and local government officials.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
    • Ability to provide own transportation and be willing to travel.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Strong technology and computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, QuickBooks and WordPress.
    • Lower Dauphin School District resident preferred.
