Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. This position will be based in our regional offices in Jacksonville, FL.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Facilities oversees the physical upkeep and maintenance of all KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools buildings and properties. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). It requires significant collaboration with school leaders and the Assistant School Leader of Operations as well as peers throughout the KIPP Jacksonville regional team. The Director of Facilities also acts as a key KIPP liaison to the Duval County Public School System regarding school safety and compliance.
The Director of Facilities sets facilities standards and works with regional leaders to develop long-term capital improvement plans and annual capital projects to meet these standards. The Director of Facilities supports regional operations teams with vendor selection and procurement, ensuring compliance with local laws, acquiring all necessary materials and approvals, and overseeing the projects.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep passion for social justice and educational equity for all children, and clear school-based or regional operations leadership experience that oversees critical operational areas for the organization.
The DoF manages the facilities tech team, the custodial teams, and all vendor relationships, across all four campuses. The DoF will build and engage a plan to hit school-based operations goals aligned to custodial, building cleanliness, and other facilities metrics. The DoF also works closely with school teams and the COO to assist with moving into new buildings and opening new campuses that allow the organization to continue to grow.
The DoF is a full-time role on the Shared Services Team which oversees four schools currently and is actively planning for growth in future school years. As a member of the Shared Services Team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but vary for this role based on the season. Some travel to community events during/after normal business hours would be required.
