Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $55,500 to $65,000 per year. Hiring offers will be determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager – Foundation Relations is responsible for direct oversight of the college’s work with foundation funders. They are responsible for the creation and management of a well-coordinated, strategic development plan to cultivate and solicit support from foundations and government sources. This position works to establish long term partnerships, strengthen existing relationships and initiate new contacts within the community of foundations. The desired candidate will provide the expertise to advance the Culinary Institute of America (CIA’s) interests by researching and identifying sources of support, proactively seeking opportunities to generate new proposals based on foundation guidelines and interests, and by maintaining strong communication ties with foundation donors and prospects. This position collaborates with CIA’s academic leadership on funding priorities.
