Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Trust Women’s Director of Advocacy represents Trust Women and its’ clinics in various advocacy settings, oversees volunteers and mobilizes supporters to take action on reproductive rights and justice issues. This position oversees the Trust
    Women’s volunteer programs, grassroots organizing efforts, legislative work, and events. This position collaborates with the Co-Executive Directors, staff, and contractors in a multifaceted role.
    This is a full-time salaried position with additional weekend and evening hours as needed.

    Advocacy Director responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Develop and execute a strategy for civic and community engagement in politically and culturally diverse communities on abortion and other reproductive health policies.
    • Meet directly with key state groups, grassroots leaders, partner organizations, and supporters around the region.
    • Build grassroots support for reforms by mobilizing supporters and the public through direct outreach, including planning and implementing outreach activities.
    • Foster new and existing relationships with partner organizations and groups.
    • Serve as the organization’s advocacy strategist, working with leadership to ensure that the organization’s priorities are implemented and carried out.
    • Mobilize Trust Women’s supporters and guide supporters.
    • Work with the development and communications department to involve volunteer supporters.
    • Work closely with all departments to ensure that organizational communications strategy is implemented.
    • Recruit, interview, and manage interns for TW in consultation with other departments to ensure that all areas of need are filled, i.e., legislative, communications, development, and advocacy.
    • Meet and speak with civic groups and organizations as necessary.

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Has a minimum of 1 year of work experience in advocacy, organizing, and/or political campaigns.
    • Has experience with volunteer coordinating and delegation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
    • Has proficiency in EveryAction and voter databases.
    • Is eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
    • Brings outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to reach a broad spectrum and cross-section of constituents.
    • Willingness to work within communities of color and underrepresentation, promoting a reproductive justice approach to women’s rights.
    • Ability to see the broad picture of women’s rights while working to implement the nuts and bolts of an organization.
