The Foundry Manager provides leadership to a team of Supervisors and Managers in the Finishing Room, Shipping and Scheduling areas. The Foundry Manager is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability metrics are met through proper coaching and supervision of employees. They will work alongside our leadership team to learn current state and initiate change to refine existing processes for improved efficiency and safety without compromising quality. The Foundry Manager will also continue to spearhead the 5S initiatives throughout the plant.

o Lead, coach, and mentor supervisors and managers to achieve goals, while demonstrating role model behavior
o Ensure that supervisors and managers are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules; work with the supervisors and managers to develop a safety culture
o Plan and direct production activities, while considering operation needs and cost factors
o Coordinate production activities with purchasing, maintenance, and quality to achieve production and scrap goals
o Ensure that employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and expectations
o Identify and develop continuous improvements to production processes with the supervisors or CI team
o Manage and oversee 5S projects including development, implementation and auditing
o Ensure process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective in solving the issue
o Troubleshoot processes and/or procedures to find the root cause on an issue and find a resolution
o Attain departmental goals in regard to Safety, 5S, Quality, Productivity and Profitability KPI’s on a regular basis
o Control labor, material and supply utilization. Evaluate performance against the established standard; take necessary corrective action to meet or exceed standard

Education and Experience Requirements
o An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a business management related discipline or equivalent work experience as a manager in a production setting is required.
o Experience in foundry production, fabricated metal products or a metals machining environment is desired.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time
Must actively engage in safe working practices
Must be able to tolerate hot working conditions and loud environment
Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders to inspect equipment at variable heights
Ability to meet basic requirements as stated in the OSHA standards for authorized LOTO, Silica and Confined Space entry..
