Fraud Detection Supervisor supervises fraud detection associates in their effort to detect possible customer fraud. Leads cross-functional initiatives to proactively detect and prevent fraud from occurring. Being a Fraud Detection Supervisor researches, documents, and implements best practices in the industry with regard to fraud detection. Leads the most challenging and complex fraud investigations. Additionally, Fraud Detection Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fraud Detection Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.   • Purpose/Duties: Manages the daily dispute and fraud operations of the debit card and digital payment processes. Key contact for projects related to debit card and digital payment platforms fraud and disputes. Must participate in training annually or as required for BSA and the Privacy Act.

    Key Result Areas:

    • Oversee operations of all Debit card services, including management of the Card and Digital Payment Dispute & Fraud team.
    • Bring new ideas and initiatives to address key opportunities/risks including but not limited to fraud losses, delinquent or charged off account concerns specific to debit card programs.
    • To be a liaison with PSCU Enhanced Fraud Solutions Analyst pertaining to debit and credit card portfolio.
    • This individual performs a wide variety of complex administrative tasks to support Achieva Credit Union’s debit and digital payment programs.
    • Manages the debit card and digital payment procedures.
    • Correspond to debit card calls and emails related to debit card and digital payment fraud & dispute operations.
    • Generate debit card reports and access related databases to obtain appropriate data as needed.
    • Analyze member accounts with unusual problems to correct errors or provide other appropriate solutions.
    • Support department and enterprise projects and product development.
    • Verify daily settlement of chargebacks and disputes provisional credits.
    • Assist staff with complex or unusual debit card situations.
    • Manage the preparation of monthly statistical and activity reports for senior management.
    • Cultivate a strong team by building trust among the team members.
    • Monitor overall progress to ensure department goals are met and high-quality member service is maintained.
    • Provides prompt, friendly and accurate service to internal and external customers.
    • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Compliance with all appropriate organizational policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
    • Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
    • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Attend departmental meeting and webinars as appropriate.
    • Continuous education regarding card and digital payment compliance and industry best practices.
    • Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned.

    Minimum Education Required:

    • BA/BS in Business Administration or related field

    Licenses/Certifications Required: PMI, PMP, or CAPM

    Required Skills:

    • Financial Institution Experience 1-2 years
    • Card and Digital payment chargeback and fraud experience 3-5 years
    • Leadership Experience 2 years
    • Proficient math skills to balance the departments GL accounts 3-5 years
    • Experience in maintaining Regulation E compliance in relation to fraud & disputes & chargebacks
    • Microsoft Suite
    • Knowledge of Visa and MasterCard network/association
    • Exceptional written and listening skills
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives/priorities in a fast-paced environment
