Starting salary for this position is : $3,974 (Monthly)
Employees starting at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter.
If an employee starting at anything higher than the entry step of the range, will have salary step advancement after 12 months and salary step advancement every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range.
Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase in salary.

The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Investigation Consultant in the Human Resources Department.JOB SUMMARY
The Investigation Consultant works with a dynamic Human Resources team that provides internal client services across the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) district.
CCS is comprised of two community college campuses, Spokane and Spokane Falls, and several satellite sites. The Human Resources Office (HRO) serves Washington State's largest community college district (12,302 square miles) with urban, suburban and rural campuses and learning centers.
The Investigation Consultant works under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources Employment Services (HRES) and is responsible for processing workplace complaints and conducting civil rights and Title IX investigations.
This position is the point of contact for outside organizations that perform investigations and process background checks / sexual misconduct disclosures.
This position may assist with other HRES functions.
This is an in-training position that allows for growth in the Human Resources Consultant (HRC) series and will progress from an HRC 1 to HRC 2 after demonstrating abilities and competencies as defined in the in-training plan.
The position can move to an HRC 3 as defined in the in-training plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in human resources, journalism, criminal justice or related field. Or an equivalent mix of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate meets all competency requirements for this position.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
One or more years of professional-level human resources work experience. Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR / SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP) certification, and / or equivalent certification.
Training or experience in conducting Title IX investigations. Experience in a state agency or higher education environment.
Experience working in a union environment. Trained in implicit bias or related practices. Knowledge of state Revised Code of Washington (RCWs) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) rules and regulations.
The ability to apply laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII, Title IX, disparate treatment / impact, etc.
Project management skills to be successful in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and interruptions. Experience with payroll / personnel management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).

Total compensation is an
estimate
based upon adding the following amounts together : Base compensation of $47,688 - $64,092,

The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices.
