Fraud Prevention Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of fraudulent transactions. Develops cross-functional initiatives to proactively detect and prevent fraud from occurring. Being a Fraud Prevention Manager approves and implements recommendations for process and procedure improvements. Reviews and implements best practices in the fraud prevention industry. Additionally, Fraud Prevention Manager ensures compliance with all relevant anti-fraud regulations and standards. Creates reports outlining trends, risks, and mitigation strategies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Fraud Prevention Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fraud Prevention Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. WPHW is a non-profit organization that serves four federally recognized tribes located in five communities: the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Aroostook Band of Mi'kmaq, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township, the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and the Penobscot Nation. Wabanaki traditions, language, and culture guide our approach and describe the ways we live in harmony with each other and the land we collectively share. Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the state of Maine. Position Summary: Leads the substance use prevention program within Our Future Generations Division. Supports programming to support community members that builds connections, resilience, and strengthens positive health outcomes, cultural identity, and protective factors against substance use. Position focuses on issues of substance use prevention, public health, and risk and protective factors. Ensures effective curricular and programmatic development, implementation, and evaluation. Duties and Responsibilities: * Presents WPHW OFG work to Tribal Leadership, Health Directors, Funders, and other program directors. * Communicates effectively with state funding partners. * Accountable to colleagues and outside partners for completion of tasks and responsibilities. * Cross-train and coach fellow staff. * Maintains a positive problem-solving attitude, listens, and respects the competing demands of others and works toward the best solution for the team. * Collaborates on district wide assessment to identify the locations and populations at risk and to identify available resources and community readiness to address the problem. * Works with community partners to identify potential sources of accurate substance abuse data. * Conducts data assessment and surveys at community events. * Works with State partners on Tribally related data projects. * Assists with a planning process that includes prioritizing risk and protective factors, development of a logic model, and selecting appropriate and approved prevention strategies. * Assists with the creation and implementation of an action plan. * Ensures community engagement and involvement in planning processes. * Implements evidence informed activities with specific measurable milestones and targets and works collaboratively and in coordination with other substance abuse prevention programs. * Works to build capacity in the community targeted through partnerships and collaborations. * Works directly in all Tribal communities to engage population on substance use prevention efforts. * Works with each community to ensure connection between communities. Education and Experience Required: * Bachelor's degree in health or public Health or a related field or Associate's degree in health or other allied sciences with four years of experience. * Experience in community organization/health promotion with previous work in tribal communities is required. * Prevention Specialist Certification if required; provision certification must be applied for before hire. Skills and Qualifications Required: * Project management expertise. * Ability to manage and develop high performing, goal-oriented groups as well as set and achieve strategic objectives. * Ability to develop, administer and monitor budget and contract expenditures. * Grant writing skills. * Ability to facilitate complex issues, manage and resolve conflict. * Proficient in interpersonal communication. * Experience working with Tribal communities. * Knowledge of prevention messaging, risk and protective factors, and prevention and public health practices. * Experience and knowledge in public health and organizational management. * Ability to manage concurrent projects. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. * Ability to travel extensively in state, valid Maine Driver's License without restrictions. * Ability to work independently with little supervision. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. * Proficient Microsoft Office skills. * Must pass criminal background check.
