Multi-provider medical office with immediate availability for front office financial patient care representative. We are looking for a new staff member who will be a team player, friendly and able to work in a fast-paced office environment. Strong time management and organizational skills are a must-have for this position.
Summary of Job Duties:
· Check out patients and complete check-out process in EMR
· Schedule patient appointments
· Verify patient insurance prior to appointments to ensure the coverage is active and billable
· Verify patient financial responsibility through insurance
· Collect outstanding balances, coinsurances, deductibles, copays and self-pay balances that are owed at the time of service
· Accurately post patient payments and provide receipts
· Efficiently answer phones in a friendly and professional manner
· Scan documents into patient charts
· Process release of information to patients, healthcare facilities, and other medical offices according to HIPAA guidelines
· Maintain accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information by verifying at each patient encounter
· Keep the check-out area organized and clean at all times
· Complete all tasks within the guidelines established by the practice
· Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
· Perform any other duties as assigned or requested
Requirements for this position include:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of three years prior medical office experience
· Prior experience verifying medical insurance plans
· Basic medical terminology knowledge
· Good verbal, written, and phone communication skills
· Prior working experience with Athena Health is preferred
