JOB PURPOSE :
The Customer Funding Specialist (CFS) provides outstanding and professional customer service to ensure efficiency and promote a positive customer experience.
This role manages customers’ financial information and assists with their coverage, financial obligations, ability to pay, and education on processes related to Insurance coverage.
The CFS needs to be knowledgeable in all aspects of the process from intake through billing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for determining eligibility and ensuring that customers meet their financial obligation and offer options where applicable.
Record and maintain complete documentation of activities performed on a customer’s account.
Advise customers on matters related to eligibility, coverage, deductibles, and any financial responsibility the customer might have.
Communicate with customers and insurance companies regarding pre-authorizations, payments, or to resolve account inquiries.
Discuss payment alternatives as appropriate; Sets up arrangement / monthly installments plans for customers to pay off their financial balances.
Collect and process payments for out-of-pocket amounts, document collection activities and outcomes as appropriate.
Create detailed notes in the system to reflect all actions performed on the account.
Consistently maintains, analyzes, and updates financial information on the customers’ accounts.
Participate in data gathering for financial reporting.
Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform the job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.
Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’s policies and federal regulations.
Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 6 months experience in insurance billing or related experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to show compassion to customers.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Medical terminology knowledge.
Knowledge of CPT / ICD-9 coding.
