Fundraising Coordinator coordinates operations to execute an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, and capital development initiatives supporting short- and long-term organizational revenue objectives. Supports donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors and corporate or governmental partnerships. Being a Fundraising Coordinator plans events and develops communications to increase donor engagement. Uses a donor database and software tools to produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Additionally, Fundraising Coordinator may participate in the grant writing and proposal process. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The ideal Communications and Fundraising Coordinator is organized, flexible, comfortable working both independently and with a group, and ready to start right away. You must be committed to strengthening our digital presence, leading and supporting small fundraising activities, and using your creativity and heart to write inviting stories, across multiple communication channels, that engage and grow our community.
You will work closely with the Executive Director and Conservation and Education teams to create digital and print marketing materials for our programs, dynamic promotions for outreach and special events, social media content, digital newsletters, and emails.
You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee to develop new ideas for fundraising events, organize and manage existing fundraising efforts, manage the donor database, and track progress of fundraising goals.
Land context: Our camps operate out of Leigh Farm Park in Durham County and Blackwood Farm Park in Orange County. Both parks are remnants of 19th-century plantations on land that was once part of the shared territory of Saponi, Tuscarora, Occaneechi, Cheraw, Eno, Shakori, Catawba, and Lumbee nations. The County Parks Department has preserved multiple historic structures in both our locations. We also operate camps in Wake County’s Umstead State Park, which was once a segregated park and indigenous territory. We honor and acknowledge all the people who lived here before us. We also acknowledge the painful history of people forced to work the land.

Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours a week) exempt position. Annual salary is $35,000 to $38,000, based on qualifications, with discretionary PTO, sick days, and six holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day) after a 90-day evaluation period. Benefits include a $2,400 annual wellness stipend (after 90 days), and the option to participate in our 403(b), and accidental death, dismemberment, and life insurance.
