Ministry Function

The Fundraising Research Manager supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by researching individuals, corporations, and foundations that are interested in supporting the mission and vision of Convoy of Hope. In addition to this, assisting in maintaining records of donors and directly supporting the partner engagement team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Research and Identification: Utilize various tools and resources to identify potential donors, including individuals, organizations, and foundations. Map relationships between donors and prospects to help identify opportunities. Monitor local, national, and business news and events regarding donors and prospects.
2. Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data to provide detailed insights on potential donors, including wealth indicators, philanthropic history, and areas of interest.
3. Communication: Clearly summarize and communicate the results of the research, highlighting key information and recommendations for engagement.
4. Support and Collaboration: Assist the partner engagement representatives in reviewing their portfolios and keeping them active and effective, making educated recommendations for which donors they should partner with. Generate analytical reports from Salesforce and create custom reports to provide analysis and interpretation of portfolio performance.  
5. Cross-departmental liaison: Build relationships with other departments in order to keep data up-to-date. Build processes for Partner Engagement to connect with volunteers (wealth screening, vetting, donor journeys, etc.) from other departments (Field Teams, Disaster Services, Community Engagement).
6. Maintain Database Integrity: Ensure accuracy and completeness of donor information in Salesforce, updating records as needed.
7. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in fundraising research and development.
8. Assists with other research-related activities, as needed.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Nonprofit Management, Research) is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Possesses a general knowledge and understanding of fundraising, donor relations, and developed technical skills.
3. Demonstrates teachability for learning new skills necessary for effective research.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Naturally curious with an inclination towards analytical thinking and problem-solving that fuels motivation and innovation.
6. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently effectively.
7. Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
8. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organization and program ministry.
9. Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
10. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists, and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
