Fundraising Manager manages an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, capital development initiatives, and operations to support the overall organizational development and revenue objectives. Implements donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Being a Fundraising Manager works to develop potential corporate or governmental partnerships and grant funding opportunities. Creates collaborative coordination between staff and internal stakeholders to plan events and communications to increase donor engagement. Additionally, Fundraising Manager uses technology to manage and monitor donor information and produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Fundraising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fundraising Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.      Position:  Donations and Fundraising Manager

     General Description: 

    The Donations and Fundraising Manager will be primarily responsible for planning and implementing Hudson River Housing’s fundraising strategies, events, and activities to generate funds for the organization’s annual operating needs and long-term sustainability.

    Principal Duties:

    • Build strategies for major donor, planned giving, in-kind, and other donor programs to develop a large, sustained donor base.
    • Develop campaign plans, annual fundraising plans, and appeals in coordination with the Assistant Director of Resource Development.
    • Input all donations, maintain accurate data, and oversee gift processing and donor acknowledgements through Blackbaud Suites.
    • Secure financial support in the form of annual sponsors and major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
    • Spearhead and coordinate Hudson River Housing’s annual fundraising events. 
    • Represent organization at community events and local initiatives.
    • Steward direct contact with donors/sponsors and handle donor prospecting.
    • Conduct research, analyze donor patterns and trends, and formulate reports to present to Hudson River Housing’s Resource Development Board Committee.
    • Be point of contact for Hudson River Housing’s Adopt a Night Program, handle scheduling.
    • Oversee design, production, printing, and mailing of solicitation materials
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HRH’s overall activities and priorities particularly in the Resident Services, CB&E, and Resource Development arenas.  Maintain positive working relationships with HRH staff through attendance at meetings, visits to project sites, and participation in agency staff events.

    Qualifications-

    Experience: A minimum of 3 years of resource development and fundraising experience is required with proven track-record of success. Proficiency in fundraising software such as Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Suites, and Adobe applications is required.

    Education: BA/BS required in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid driver’s license.

    Physical Demands: NA

    Other: Strong communication and writing skills, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented a must.  Competent knowledge of local community and data systems used by Hudson River Housing a plus. Must be adaptable to a high-pressure environment. Schedule generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm with occasional after-hours required to meet deadlines and event needs. May occasionally work remotely. Strong communication skills, ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, foresight, planning, flexibility/ability to multitask, basic math skills, and comfort with online systems. 

    Salary: $50,000-$60,000 annually
