Fundraising Manager manages an organization's fundraising strategies, campaigns, capital development initiatives, and operations to support the overall organizational development and revenue objectives. Implements donor stewardship programs to identify, develop, retain, and nurture a portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Being a Fundraising Manager works to develop potential corporate or governmental partnerships and grant funding opportunities. Creates collaborative coordination between staff and internal stakeholders to plan events and communications to increase donor engagement. Additionally, Fundraising Manager uses technology to manage and monitor donor information and produce data-driven measurement and reporting of the progress of fundraising goals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Fundraising Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fundraising Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary

    Reporting to, and working closely with, the Executive Director, the Director of Development will execute the entire fundraising lifecycle from strategic planning focused on community-centric fundraising, to delivering daily results across all avenues: government grants, individual giving, corporate and foundation giving, major gifts and the Glens Falls Area Habitat Team Build program.

     

    This position also directs Glens Falls Area Habitat’s communication and public relations strategies to increase awareness of the mission and generate tangible support for our work in the community.

     

    This role is approximately 3-days/week in office and 2-days/week telecommute.

     

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Become an expert in Habitat for Humanity, the neighborhoods served and the requirements to operate successfully within them
    • Become the primary connector between Glens Falls Area Habitat for Humanity’s network of supporters (donors, volunteers, newsletter subscribers, partners) and the organization
    • Establish an annual, and 3-year, strategic direction for fundraising, an associated marketing plan, measures of success and goals to meet annual budget
    • Execute the entire lifecycle of both public and private grant funding, including compliance and reporting
    • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of all fundraising processes and data systems, from major gifts -to- individual giving, to be sure Glens Falls Area Habitat for Humanity remains a top producing affiliate and a leader in regional affordable housing
    • Grow “Carpenter’s Club” through greater communication with, and recognition of, current participants and outreach to secure additional participants
    • Manage all communications, including the design, content and copy of each piece, associated with fundraising (brand guidelines, databases, mailing lists, direct mail, email, social media, web, newsletter, press releases, solicitations, Team Build, etc.)
    • Lead the “Team Build” program day-to-day while gaining greater penetration with area businesses, schools and houses of worship assuring appropriate resource availability for Glens Falls Habitat for Humanity’s future
    • Hold ultimate accountability for fundraising success

     

    What You Must Bring to This Role

    • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or equivalent combination of Junior College education and experience - desired
    • Success leading fundraising work in a not for profit (NFP) organization - desired
    • A history of executing, and delivering success, in not for profit (NFP) fundraising - required
    • Proven success defining problems, collecting data, deducing facts, and drawing valid conclusions - required
    • Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships and effectively leading cross-functionally - required
    • A history of leveraging persuasive communication and/or a selling system to results - required
    • Demonstrated excellence creating and delivering copy & content - required
    • A desire to continue learning, with proven success learning quickly and translating learning into results - required
    • A history of exceptional attention to detail and commitment to "doing things right the first time" - required
    • A history of operating successfully within the not For Profit (NFP) segment - desired

    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with leadership & safe site operations
    • Transportation to & from work locations
    • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment
    • Some exposure to physical risk consistent with a construction job site
