Furnace Operator/Tender sets-up, operates, maintains, and controls furnaces to melt metal to specified temperatures. Adjusts controls to regulate the furnace and to maintain specified temperature. Being a Furnace Operator/Tender requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Furnace Operator/Tender relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Operate Vacuum Heat Treat and Gas Nitriding furnaces

Diagnoses equipment failures, collect data to identify root causes and develop sustainable solutions.

Working with Management and engineering, follow the production schedule, using established processes and procedures

5 years' experience operating Heat Treat Furnaces working with Tool Steels

Outstanding root causing and problem-solving skills

Experience creating & maintaining a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team.
